Mission
"No firefighter, their family, or member of our community stands alone in times of need."
When firefighters, their families, and community members face hardship, the Stamford Professional Firefighters Foundation answers that call. We are a 501(c)(3) charitable organization created to support those in need during times of crisis.
The Foundation exists to support active and retired firefighters, stand beside families facing crisis, assist neighboring fire service communities in moments of tragedy, and invest in public safety initiatives that strengthen Stamford and the surrounding region.

Flagship Initiatives
As we launch our 2026 fundraising campaign, we invite corporate partners and community members to stand with us in strengthening the infrastructure of care that supports our first responders and the communities they protect through four flagship initiatives.
Firefighter Cancer Support Program
Occupational cancer is the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths among firefighters. This program eases the financial, logistical, and emotional strain of a cancer diagnosis by providing transportation to treatment, financial assistance during time away from work, travel and lodging for specialized care, childcare assistance, meals, and family support services. When one of our own is fighting cancer, they should never have to fight alone.
Future Leaders Scholarship Fund
Every firefighter sacrifices for the community, and their families make those sacrifices alongside them. This fund invests in the next generation by providing scholarships for college, trade school, technical education, and career development for the children of Stamford firefighters — honoring the service of those who protect ours.
Community Recovery Fund
A devastating fire changes lives in an instant. This fund helps local families begin rebuilding after a tragedy by partnering with regional burn foundations, children's recovery programs, and disaster-relief organizations — offering emergency financial assistance, burn-survivor recovery services, mental health resources, children's recovery camps, and other critical needs that help families heal physically, emotionally, and financially.
Line of Duty Family Fund
While we hope it is never needed, this fund ensures that no Stamford firefighter's family faces the unthinkable alone. It provides immediate financial assistance and long-term support after a line-of-duty death, helping surviving spouses, children, and loved ones navigate the difficult days ahead and honoring the sacrifice made in service to our community.
